As the Founder and Director of Pretty Bean Coffee my journey in the hospitality industry began at age 13 with a part time job washing dishes in the local village pub. Discovering my knack in the kitchen at 16, I pursued a two-year chef apprenticeship between Westminster College and London’s oldest restaurant, Rules.
Uncertain of my exact path within hospitality, I freelanced across the UK in hotels, restaurants and event catering companies. Eventually I found my calling in the film industry. The allure of being on-set, combined with the need for quality catering was highly appealing. I spent years catering for many big productions learning how crucial good catering is for the cast and crew. With the rise of American backed filming in the UK I identified a gap in the market for on-set coffee and craft catering. Drawing on my extensive knowledge of the film industry's I took the plunge in 2018, attended barista school and Pretty Bean Coffee was born.
Seven years later, I've grown Pretty Bean Coffee into a leading craft catering company working with Netflix, Prime TV, Apple TV+, BBC, and Warner Bros, among others. As demand grew beyond film sets, we expanded into the corporate world, offering branded coffee carts for events.
My philosophy has always been simple:
Work and support incredible local suppliers
Deliver a professional service
Make our packages accessible, whatever the budget
In 2024 I knew it was time to take Pretty Bean a step further. Sustainability matters, not just to us but to our clients we work with. That’s why I’m really pleased to share that as of this year Pretty Bean Coffee is carbon neutral.
